Pool Maintenance Officer

The opportunity

We are searching for an individual with experience (or willingness to learn) undertaking pool servicing and maintenance that is hands on and organized to carry out regular maintenance of Federation Council public pools and associated facilities for a term period of 3 years.

In this role you will:

  • Regularly inspect facilities to identify and action faults to ensure all plant and equipment remain in good working order.
  • Manually clean pools and operate pool cleaning equipment.
  • Undertake water testing and balancing of pool water chemistry.
  • Undertake regular maintenance of all pool equipment including performing pool servicing and programming of control system software.
  • Maintain grounds including gardening and mowing.
  • Organise and oversee contractors to undertake relevant work as required.
  • Assist with supervision of patrons and enforce pool rules as required.

Criteria

Council’s preferred candidate will ultimately possess a range of the following qualifications, experience, skills and knowledge.

  • Demonstrated previous experience undertaking pool servicing and maintenance or similar experience in a relevant industry or trade.
  • Hold an Aquatic Technical Operations qualification (SISSS00110) (or similar) or the ability to acquire within six months of commencement.
  • Hold a Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) and CPR (HLTAID001) qualification or the ability to acquire within six months of commencement.
  • Understanding of water chemistry and balancing.
  • Good technical ability and mechanical aptitude including the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve faults.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated technology competency including using computers, smart phones, email, and control system software.

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment.  The salary is commencing at $1,206.30 per week with progression up to $1,506.60 per week dependent upon skills and experience.
