The opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Leading Hand Sundry to join our Operations Team based in Urana. This role is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Council Works Sundry Team and assist the Works Overseer to ensure the team operates in compliance with Council’s corporate goals, objectives and standards in the construction of quality infrastructure services for Federation Council.
Criteria
- Hold a current and valid Heavy Combination (HC) Licence with experience.
- Hold a Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
- Demonstrated experience in civil construction activities associated with signs, culverts, potholes, roadside furniture and footpaths, and the construction of kerbs and gutters;
- Demonstrated knowledge of WHS practices and ability to actively encourage and promote a safe working environment
- Good verbal communications skills and the capacity to deal with employees and the public effectively
- Demonstrated experience in supervising staff, allocating work and managing plant and materials.

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment. The salary is commencing at $1,331.60 per week plus standard allowances, with progression up to $1,469.90 per week dependent upon skills and experience.
