The opportunity

Applicants are invited to apply for the position of Labourer to work across the Saleyards, Facilities and Town Services Team’s. This position will undertake cleaning and maintenance labouring at a range of Federation Council’s facilities.

In this role you will responsible for:

  • Delivering cleaning and maintenance services of Council facilities.
  • Cleaning, washdown and maintenance of Corowa Saleyards.
  • Cleaning of council facilities, buildings, public toilets, bus shelters and BBQs to standards and levels required.
  • Undertaking building maintenance and repairs as required.
  • Cleaning footpaths, streets, and drains as required.
  • Servicing and cleaning of public and street litter bin and rubbish as required.

Criteria

Council’s preferred candidate will ultimately possess the following criteria:

  1. Previous relevant cleaning and/or building maintenance experience.
  2. Hold a current and valid class "C" driver's licence.
  3. Ability to use minor plant and equipment such as leaf blowers, pressure washers etc.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and meet schedules and deadlines.
  5. Flexibility to regularly work outside ordinary hours.
  6. The ability to operate cleaning tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  7. Ability to follow verbal instructions and written procedures.

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment.  The salary commences at $28.76 per hour plus allowances with progression up to $31.74 per hour dependent upon skills and experience.
