The Role
As a classroom teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned to the Australian Curriculum (with local priorities)
- Use explicit teaching, strong routines, and trauma-informed / strengths-based practice to support learning
- Create safe, respectful learning environments with consistent behaviour expectations
- Assess, report, and differentiate for mixed ability levels
- Work collaboratively with leadership, support staff and community to improve attendance, engagement and outcomes
- Contribute positively to whole-school initiatives and a strong team culture
We're Looking For
Essential
- Australian Teacher Registration (TRBNT)
- Ochre Card (WWCC)
- A relationship-first approach: calm, consistent, and community-minded
- Strong planning and classroom practice (graduates welcome with the right support mindset)
- Flexibility, resilience, and a willingness to learn in a remote context
- 2 x references (most recent and relevant within the last 5 years)
Highly regarded
- Experience (or interest) in: remote teaching, multi-age classes, EAL/D, inclusive education, wellbeing support
- Cultural capability and a commitment to working respectfully with First Nations students, families and colleagues
- Ability to contribute to co-curricular activities (sport, arts, STEM, outdoor learning)
Support & Induction
You won't be doing this alone. Schools provide structured induction and ongoing support, typically including:
- onboarding and community orientation
- curriculum and planning support
- access to specialist services and regional networks
- mentoring and professional learning
