The role

ALS Environmental in Newcastle requires a full-time Micro Laboratory Technician to join our Microbiology team. The successful applicants will receive on-the-job training in the technical components and procedures of the role, and a wide variety of laboratory processes associated with working in a modern microbiological laboratory.

This a fulltime permanent position Mon-Fri 2pm-10:15pm

Responsibilities include:

Preparation and analysis of water, wastewater and receiving watersPreparation and analysis of microbiological samplesPreparation and analysis of inorganic samplesOrganising designated tasks for efficiencyHighlighting anomalies in results and sample type and sample behaviour

About you:

Tertiary qualifications or Certificate in Laboratory techniques Experience with and understanding of NATA requirements desirablePrevious laboratory experience desirableDiligent in dealing with data and details and intermediate knowledge of MS applicationsCustomer focussed and a collaborative team playerFlexibility to meet our changing business needsAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environmentStrong organisational skills to manage competing and changing priorities
