The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced person with a passion for everything ‘Local’ to join our Library and Customer Service Team.  The successful applicant will be someone who can work collaboratively with staff and engage with the community to deliver excellent library and council related customer services.

It is a dynamic and fundamental role within the organisation that will focus on promoting a professional and positive image of Council whilst always meeting the needs of customers.

The hours of work are 10.5 hours per week in our Mulwala office, as follows:

  • Thursday: 9:30 am – 1:15 pm (3.75 hours)
  • Friday: 9:30 am – 1:15 pm (3.75 hours)
  • Saturday: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (3.0 hours)

Essential key criteria to be addressed in applications

  • Hold a Certificate III Library Services, Business Administration or related field or relevant experience.
  • Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check.
  • Hold a current and valid class "C" driver's licence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of library operations, library services and principles of customer service
  • Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills with an ability to communicate in a courteous and effective manner;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of service and display professionalism when interacting with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment.  The wage commences at $32.80 per hours.
