We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Works Supervisor to join our team and oversee the efficient delivery of road maintenance and construction projects.  The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of skilled workers, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The Opportunity

Bellingen Shire Council has an exciting Capital Works delivery program that will be delivered in the coming years.

In the next few years, Council is spending over $25M on its Road Renewal Program, a further $10M on bridges as well as delivering Special Projects including the upgrade of key infrastructure in Connell Park and replacing the iconic Urunga Boardwalk.

Reporting to the Civil Project Engineer, this role is responsible for the supervision of Council’s Road Maintenance teams.  The incumbent will oversee the daily operations of the teams, ensuring the timely completion of our road rehabilitation, heavy patching and bitumen re-surfacing program, as well as ensuring that scheduled and reactive maintenance works are delivered within nominated response times.

The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on experience in road maintenance and construction and project/contract management.  A strong understanding of engineering principles as applied to road maintenance and construction is essential.

To succeed in the role, you will possess the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organisation from senior management to frontline staff.  You will demonstrate a proven ability manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of performance.  Additionally, you will have a strong track record of building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.

Annual salary of $81,855 to $93,323 (plus super).
