Lachlan Shire Council has an opportunity for a Work Health and Safety Officer to work out of our Condobolin Office. The purpose of the position is to assist management in exercising ‘due diligence’ by providing broad organisational support in developing and implementing Council’s overall Safety Management System. The role involves the development and auditing of workplace practices to assist in ensuring adherence to policy and procedure throughout the organisation to meet the expectation to provide a safe workplace. This role also administers the workers compensation function and contributes to recovery at work of injured workers.

To be successful you will need a certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and a Certificate IV in workplace Training and Assessing or equivalent. Relevant industry experience working in a safety or risk role would be an advantage. Well-developed written and oral communication skills and strong computer literacy are required to be effective in this role. You must also hold a Class C Driver Licence and Construction Induction Card. Lachlan Shire is committed to the delivery of high quality customer service and values that support and enhance our community. Salary: From $3,079 to $3,310 per fortnight per fortnight on commencement dependent on skills and experience
