About the role

Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking two (2) Water Services Operator/Labourers to join the Water & Waste Section of Council's Engineering Department. 

The Water Services Operator/Labourers will be responsible for supporting the Water Service Operator to carry out a variety of tasks as required within Council's Water & Waste section in order to satisfy the requirements of the relevant Australian plumbing codes and other required standards. 

Key Requirements

  • Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence 
  • General Construction for Induction (White Card) 
  • Knowledge of pipe laying for water and wastewater applications
  • Experience in the utilisation of small plant used in the construction industry 
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a team member 
  • Logical thinking skills 
  • Adequate numeracy & literacy skills to fulfil the requirements of the position 
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, requiring considerable amounts of labouring work 
  • Ability to work overtime and on call (including weekends) as required.

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen.

Salary: $947.10 to $995.03 per week + Adverse working conditions allowance of $18.28 per week + On call allowance (as required) + Super 

Position Status: Permanent full time 

Hours of work: 38 hours per week with an RDO every third week
