Waste Excavator Operator

About the Opportunity

In this role, you will play a vital role in operating our excavator and completing associated tasks, while also being willing to lend a hand with various duties within our waste facility as needed. To excel in this position, it is essential that you possess the physical capabilities to effectively perform the duties of the role, as well as possess strong communication skills.

On a typical day this role will:

You will operate a 22 tonne excavator to:

• Construct landfill cell clay walls
• Spread waste and cover active tipping areas
• Construct and maintain stormwater and leachate systems including diversion bunds and table drains
• Push up stockpiles of concrete, green waste and scrap metal
• Construct and maintain site access roads

Additional various duties may include:

• Managing and maintaining leachate pumps to ensure effective operation
• Driving a truck onsite to cart soil for cover material
• Operating a 39 tonne landfill compactor as required

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with 9-day fortnight)

Salary (exclusive of super): Starting salary of $1,154.10 per week with the opportunity for competency-based progression.

Allowance: Adverse Working Level 2.
