With two roles on offer, you'll work alongside a team committed to ensuring best practice waste management for our community now and into the future.  You'll find purpose by driving efficiencies through the introduction and implementation of new services, utilising new technology, to the community.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Ensuring the effective, efficient operation of the Whylandra Waste and Recycling Facility by coordinating the landfill operations.
  • Efficiently coordinating operational teams and workloads to ensure a high-quality customer service.
  • Ensuring Council meets its regulatory compliance requirements including those under the Environmental Protection Licence.
  • Assisting with the completion of regular reporting to external agencies.
  • Communicating and liaising with contractors and customers.

What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate IV in Waste Management or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate and undertake supervision and management of staff and their development.
  • Class HR Drivers License and plant operator competence including mechanical aptitude.
  • General administrative skills demonstrating a competent level of literacy and numeracy and basic computer skills with experience in email and Microsoft office programs.
  • Good customer service and verbal communication skills.

We would also love you to have:

  • Demonstrated work related experience in waste and recycling operations.
  • Previous Local Government experience.
