Waste Coordinator Walcha Council

The Position

This position coordinates all our Waste activities and services, as well as project delivery and will focuses on continual improvement to ensure the provision of high quality, safe and sustainable public facilities consistent with Council’s strategic planning.

This position is expected to work with all other areas of Council, committees and the community to successfully deliver the key responsibilities and goals, including supervision of an experienced team of waste operators.

This position is a key role within the Directorate of Infrastructure & Development and is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of services related to the operational running of the Waste Transfer Facility and other waste management services.

About You

You will have experience in the Waste industry and be able to contribute to Council’s Waste Strategy and planning, in addition to daily management of our waste services and team. Your focus will be on providing efficient services to the community, and sustainable waste practises wherever possible. You will be practical and have a can-do mindset. You must also be hands-on, operating plant and machinery when required. You will be able to work as the leader of a small high performing team, and fulfil responsibilities of a coordinator. You may be required to work in an on-call roster for the provision of emergency services.

What we Offer

This is a permanent full-time position (38 hours per week) starting at $1,697.10  (gross), based on Band 2 Level 3 Grade 7 of the Local Government (State) Award 2023. You will enjoy one RDO every fortnight.
