Venue Technical Officer

The Package: $1,517.33 - $1,676.61 gross per week + 11.5% super. (Evaluated as Grade 11 of the QPRC Salary System 2024) and a guaranteed increase of 3% in 2025-26, plus potential performance-based progression.

Full time – 35 hours per week. Flexible work arrangements may apply.

Are you passionate about the performing arts and ready to take on a key role in a creative environment? QPRC is seeking a Venues Technical Officer to ensure the smooth operation of technical functions at the Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre!

In this role you will:

• Provide high-level technical support and advice to the Artistic Director and Arts Centre Manager, assisting professional, amateur and community venue users to deliver successful production outcomes.
• Supervise and coordinate all aspects of production operations, including managing schedules, liaising with external providers, and overseeing rehearsals, bump-in, and bump-out processes.
• Oversee the maintenance and management of technical equipment and assets to ensure smooth and efficient production operations, maintaining an organised and professional workspace.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least four years’ experience in a professional performing arts or entertainment venue (or relevant qualifications), strong knowledge of WHS and risk management, and proficiency in relevant software.
• Possesses excellent communication skills and flexibility, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and be available for evenings and weekends as needed.
• Has experience in budget management with the ability to manage operational budgets and provide expert advice on expenditure.
