About the Opportunity

To help us achieve this we are seeking an experienced Utilities Engineering Planning and Assets Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the future planning of new water and sewer infrastructure, while also ensuring the maintenance, rehabilitation, renewal and upgrade of existing infrastructure meets the communities' expectations now and into the future.

Within this role you will have the opportunity to lead up to 10 engineering and technical water and sewer planning staff, with the team responsible for:

  • Developing and overseeing programs and budgets for over $50M of maintenance and capital works each year;
  • Provide technical advice in relation to Council’s water supply and sewerage systems, including treatment plants;
  • Liaising with the local development industry to ensure new assets are adequately planned and constructed;
  • Ensuring a holistic asset management approach is applied to water and sewer infrastructure planning, including integrated with other infrastructure planning such as roads and stormwater.

You shall be a highly motivated, passionate and proven people leader with relevant engineering experience and qualifications. You will possess a growth mindset and share our corporate vision of creating a vibrant future for our Community.

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours per week

Salary (exclusive of super): In the range of $126,752 to $142,674.50 depending on skills and experience.

Please note, salary range includes 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance

Vehicle: This role also qualifies for a Leaseback Vehicle or Vehicle allowance.

The Vehicle allowance is $10,780.00

About Councils Infrastructure Planning Group

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council’s Infrastructure Planning Group is responsible the management and custodianship of over $2 Billion of community assets including roads, bridges, the stormwater drainage network and the water and sewer network, which alone consist of 5 Sewage and 4 water treatment plants, 165 sewage and 15 water pumping stations, 839 km of water mains, 806 km sewer mains and 78 km of recycled water mains.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council’s Utilities Planning and Design Group is responsible the management and custodianship of over $1 Billion of essential water, sewer, and waste assets for the community, which consist of 5 Sewage and 4 water treatment plants, 165 sewage and 15 water pumping stations, 839 km of water mains, 806 km sewer mains, 78 km of recycled water mains and active landfill and 4 waste transfer stations.
