About us 

Mookai Rosie Bi-Bayan, founded in the 1980s by Rose Richards ('Aunty Rosie'), is a leading health service provider dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from Cape York, NPA and Torres Strait Islander communities while in Cairns. Our Health Accommodation center is a welcoming and supportive accommodation facility for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children who are in Cairns for medical treatment. The facility can house up to 24 women and 12 children, providing a safe and comfortable environment.

About the role 

The Transport and Maintenance Officer will work under the direction of the Transport and Maintenance Supervisor for the provision of high-quality transport services and maintenance or repairs outputs for Mookai Rosie Bi-Bayan. The Transport and Maintenance Officer are a member of the Quality and Compliance team and provides a high-quality transport service to clients of MRBB. 

Candidate selection criteria 

  • Must have current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

  • Current Queensland Drivers Licence, MR or above QLD driver’s License or willingness to obtain, highly desirable

  • Have knowledge and understanding of QLD Road rules and Regulation with sound driving practices

  • Current trade certificate such as carpentry, electrical or plumbing is not required but highly desirable

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate

  • Previous experience in mechanical checks to vehicles and building and equipment maintenance, highly desirable

  • Experience with providing excellent customer service

Your benefits 

  • Work hours - Monday to Friday morning shift 08.30am to 2.00pm and evening shifts 1.30pm to 8.00pm. On occasion, early 05.00am starts will be required due to airport departures.

  • Rewarding salary range: $57,122.00 – $61,000.00 per annum pro rata (based on candidate’s qualifications, experience, and knowledge)
