Permanent Full Time
Salary from $131,392 per annum plus superannuation and an option of a motor vehicle equalization allowance ($10,450pa) OR a lease for private use of a motor vehicle. A 3.5% Civil Liability allowance may also apply. (Salary package will be negotiated based on skills, experience, and qualifications)

About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transport and Infrastructure Planning Manager to join our management team within the Infrastructure Strategy and Planning division. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and facilitating a safe, efficient, and sustainable multi-modal transport system throughout the city that meets the social, environmental, and economic expectations of the community and effectively plans for the City's future.

As a leader, you will provide leadership and promote a professional, high-functioning, and collaborative culture. Your key stakeholders will include team members across Infrastructure Governance, City Strategy, City Works - Maintenance and Construction, Major Projects, Design and Technical Services, Customer Service, Development Assessment and Certification, Community Engagement,, Executive Management Committee, Councillors, and the community and many others.

Wollongong City is the location for the 2025 Triathlon World Championships . You will assist with the planning of the event traffic and transport management associated with the event. In this role you will have a strong focus on multi-modal transport solutions through infrastructure delivery and behavioural change to support the event.

About you:

We are seeking an experienced leader with a strong background in transport planning and traffic engineering. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering, Planning, or a related field, with extensive experience in developing innovative solutions to urban transport challenges. They will possess proven leadership skills, able to motivate and develop teams while promoting a collaborative culture and driving continuous improvement. With strong project and financial management capabilities, they will successfully manage budgets, resource allocation, and grant funding. The candidate will excel in multitasking, balancing strategic planning, innovation, and customer-focused responsibilities while managing multiple delivery projects in our road and path networks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building stakeholder relationships and conducting community engagement. A commitment to workplace health and safety, managing public liability risks, and ensuring compliance with legislation is crucial.
