The role & you
Have you ever considered a career in the water industry? It’s a rewarding and essential field with a steady demand both locally and across Australia.
In this traineeship, you’ll join a dedicated team responsible for delivering high-quality water and sewer services to homes and businesses, while ensuring wastewater is properly treated to protect the environment. You’ll gain hands-on experience in vital tasks such as water main repairs, valve replacements, sewer pump station maintenance, responding to emergency situations, and working with IT systems to manage data and system readings related to water and sewer operations.

Remuneration: You will be paid in accordance with the Traineeship pay scale as outlined in the Local Government (State) Award 2023 plus superannuation. A water allowance of $95.34 will also apply.
Location: Upon commencement your normal place of work will be the MidCoast Council Tuncurry Depot, Grey Gum Road Tuncurry. You will also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Full-time 38 hours per week for a 12 month fixed term. For the right person there will be an opportunity to progress to a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations for a further 18 month fixed term.
