We are seeking an experienced and professional Traffic Engineer with a passion for our mixed urban rural environment.

In this role you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Investigate and assess all traffic/road safety matters and provide specialist advice and recommendations to improve the safety and efficiency of the Shire's transport network.
  • Assist in Capital Works Delivery program on road design and other various road infrastructure delivery matters concerning traffic standards, signs, line marking, and local area traffic management
  • Review transport impact assessments of the existing and proposed Shire road network.
  • Provide expert advice to staff, Council and external stakeholders on traffic, transport and municipal engineering and development matters affecting the Shire.
  • Assist in the submission of grant funding applications.
  • Conduct assessment regarding the speed limit review and Restricted Access Vehicle permit applications and liaise with Main Roads Western Australia for approval.

Our preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate the following qualifications and skillset:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or Traffic Engineering
  • A minimum of five years' of practical experience
  • Extensive working knowledge of transport engineering best practice
  • Basic Worksite Traffic Management certification
  • Advanced Traffic Management certification
  • Solid understanding in Sidra modelling
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Possession of a valid Driver's Licence
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD software
