We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Town Planner to join our Building and Environmental Health team. This permanent full-time position is responsible for managing the whole of the development application process, including recommending the application for approval or refusal.   

About the role:

  • respond to written and verbal planning and building enquiries
  • lodge development applications, and processing technical information requests 
  • provide excellent customer service to our stakeholders
  • provide support to Building Surveyors, Town Planners and Technical Officers.

We are seeking:

  • degree or Post-Graduate Town Planning qualifications
  • demonstrated high level competence and experience in the assessment of residential development applications whilst working within a government framework
  • a co-operative approach in a team environment
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to prioritise and handle conflicting deadlines.

Where it's located:

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
