Team Leader Youth Development – Full Time

The Youth Development team coordinates a range of programs, activities and events that foster healthy, resilient, informed, and engaged young people, and promote and celebrate the role of young people in our community.

We are looking for a qualified team leader with experience in leading, managing and coaching at an individual and team level as well as effective communication skills in engaging and building purposeful mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders. The successful candidate will assist with the strategic plan of youth development operations at the City and be responsible for planning, developing, and reviewing the associated policy and procedures. Familiarity with the YACWA Code of Ethics, Child Safe Standards and the role of youth services in a local government context is essential.

Your covering letter will need to address the following key criteria:

  • Actively engage with local community groups and service providers to enhance the delivery of youth development to the Joondalup community.
  • Research, analyse and recommend activities associated with the development, implementation and evaluation of youth programs and services, and operations, including new program initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Plan, develop and review policy and procedure relating to the delivery of the sub-unit’s projects, services and events.
  • Operate within the policies, practice principals and strategic goals of the City and the Code of Ethics for Youth Workers in WA applying these principles to youth work practices within a local government context.
  • Employee management, supervision, leadership, training and coaching.

Appointment subject to provision of a satisfactory National Police Certificate (no more than three months old).
