About the Opportunity

To help us achieve this we require Natural Resources Management Team Leader to manage the invasive weeds team on-ground service delivery and to provide expert environmental advice and service to internal and external stakeholders.

On a typical day our NRM Team Leader will:

  • Leading the invasive weeds team to deliver on-ground management of weeds within Port Macquarie Hastings Local Government Area;
  • Writing, coordinating, monitoring and reviewing weed control programs for numerous internal Council stakeholders;
  • Manage the delivery of weed control programs on behalf of Council to ensure organisational liabilities are reduced, priorities, goals and objectives are met;
  • Providing expert advice regarding weed identification and ways in which to control weeds;
  • Managing team resources, WHS, work coordination, budgets and performance review of direct report team members.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Cert IV in Conservation Land Management or equivalent.
  • Current chemical accreditation AQF3 equivalent or higher.
  • Significant experience in the identification and control of invasive weeds and native plants common to NSW.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in both managing and leading a team including workplace health and safety, work coordination and employee performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operations safely in a remote setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to budget for, plan, implement, monitor and review a multi-facetted weed control program.

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with 9-day fortnight)

Salary (exclusive of super): Starting salary of $1,253.50 per week with the opportunity for competency-based salary review at 3 months + Adverse Working Conditions 1 allowance + Tool of Trade Vehcile
