The role & you
MidCoast Council is currently seeking a full-time Team Leader - Horticulture to support the delivery of quality maintenance services in our parks, reserves, sports fields, amenities, and other public spaces. The Team leader will also assist the Cemeteries team when required with the delivery of safe, effective and efficient cemeteries operations including bodily and ash interments. The position will report to our Parks Supervisor and will be responsible for coordinating Parks team members to carry out day to day operations in accordance with Council's work programs.
The successful applicant will have;
- A trade qualification in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens, Landscaping or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
- WHS general induction for Construction NSW.
- Current NSW Class LR Drivers License.
- First Aid Certificate and AQF Level 3 chemical certificate (or willingness to obtain).
In addition to the required qualifications and experience, we are seeking an individual who demonstrates the following;
- A working knowledge of WHS requirements within the scope of the role and a commitment to upholding Council's safety culture values.
- The ability to plan and prioritise work activities to optimise productivity.
- Hands-on leadership to foster positive working relationships and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Effective communication to ensure a clear and efficient flow of information across the team.

Please note that to be a successful candidate for this role you’ll be required to complete a pre-employment medical check (this will include a drug and alcohol test, sight and hearing, functional and medical component)
Salary: Commencing salary $63,998.48 plus superannuation (negotiable based on skills and experience).
Location: Upon commencement your normal place of work will be the MidCoast Council Depot located at 36 Arkwright Crescent, Taree. You will be required to work from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure:
- Permanent Full Time
- 38 hours per week
- Fortnightly rostered day off
