About the Role

As the Sport and Open Space Programs Coordinator, you will contribute to Wollongong's extraordinary vision by improving the capability and outcomes across the sport and recreation sector. Working within our Sport & Recreation Division, you will plan and develop recreation and open space infrastructure projects that align with Council's Corporate and Business Plans.

This is a permanent full-time position, salary from $103,511.61 per annum inclusive of superannuation, salary package will be negotiated based on skills, experience and qualifications.

What You will be doing:

As the Sport and Open Space Programs Coordinator you will play a key role in enhancing the sport and recreation sector in our community, contributing to the city's vibrancy and liveability. Your responsibilities will include:

Project Management: Lead and develop a program of infrastructure projects on time and within budget.

Community Engagement: Conduct surveys and public meetings to ensure projects meet community needs.
Technical Expertise Provide advice on recreation management and assess development applications.
Leadership: Foster a positive team environment and collaborate with stakeholders.
Safety: Ensure compliance with WHS policies and promote workplace safety.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic initiatives and prepare reports for council.

A proven track record in managing multiple projects, community consultations, and strategic planning is essential.
