About the role

Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to join the Waste Management Centre Team in the role of Solid Waste Supervisor. 

The Solid Waste Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Waste Management Centre (WMC) team in undertaking the full range of duties associated with the operation of the WMC to ensure Council's WMC services effectively, legally and efficiently meet requirements. The Solid Waste Supervisor will also work with the Waste Management Coordinator in planning improvements to the WMC and rural transfer stations, undertake monthly transaction reporting for the Gatehouse and facilitate contractors for disposal of recoverable materials as required.  This role is also responsible for managing the 4 x rural transfer stations and the rural landfill.

You will be required to participate in an on call roster as part of this position.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum four years' experience working in a waste management facility 
  • Previous experience in the supervision of a small operating team 
  • Previous experience in landfill operation, including plant and equipment 
  • Experience in cash handling and transactions, MS Office software and Weighbridge software 
  • Experience in maintaining and capturing accurate data and generating reports 
  • Experience in WHS management and risk assessment
  • Current HR licence  
  • Current National Police Check to be able to utilise CCTV software

Salary: $1,411.08 to $1,482.51 per week + on call allowance (when required) + superannuation 

Position Status: Permanent full time  

Hours of work: 38 hours per week with an RDO every third week (on call when required)
