About the traineeship:

Tweed Shire Council is proud to offer 2 traineeships with our Destination, Communication & Customer Experience team. One opportunity is to inform, engage, and educate on Council's services and programs and the second opportunity is to inform, engage, and promote the Northern Rivers Rail Trail as a must-do experience. As a trainee, you’ll gain hands-on experience while completing a Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication or Diploma of Social Media Marketing. 

The aim of this program is to produce trainees with the skills and experience needed to create creative, on-brand content that informs, educates, and inspires the Tweed community.

As a trainee, you’ll develop the ability to produce engaging digital content, including photo, video, animation, and audio, while learning to plan, schedule, and evaluate performance across various social media channels. Working as part of the broader media and social media team, you’ll collaborate on impactful communication projects that make a real difference.

This traineeship is designed to not only build your expertise in digital media but also support your ongoing professional development and future career progression.

In order to meet the requirements of the traineeship, successful completion of training and tertiary studies is required.

What's on offer:

  • 2 full-time positions for a maximum period of up to 24 months, commencing February 2025.
  • A starting base salary of $45,682 per annum up to $62,358 per annum +11.5% super. Salary progression is based on satisfactory completion of study plus work performance.
  • Council will cover the associated course costs for your studies.

  • 70-hour fortnight, 9-day fortnight.

We are seeking:

  • Attention to detail with a passion for creating engaging content.
  • Stong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work affectively in teams and individually.
  • Aptitude to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines. 
  • A positive attitude and self-motivated.
  • Competence to operate digital cameras and equipment.
  • Current drivers licence.

Where it's located:

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
