Council is seeking a passionate and creative individual with great time management, team leading and communication skills. You will be ceative and knowledgeable in all areas of technical delivery. Committed to a high level of service and excellent event delivery for audiences and clients.
This is a hands on role where you will be a major contributor in a talented team, collaborating with touring parties, local creatives, designers and technicians to bring creative concepts to life.
Experience within a performing arts centre or venue with practical knowledge of event staging activities including stagecraft, lighting, audio, vision, flying, rigging and basic stage management procedures is essential. Technicians with a strength in lighting and/or audio would an asset but not essential.
The “Senior Venues Technician” is responsible for:
- Assist with coordination, management and execution of technical and production services for in-house productions, venue hirers and clients. Ensuring that all technical aspects of the venues and equipment are well maintained, and that client requirements are met satisfactorily with the facilities available.
- Work with the Technical Supervisor and Operations & Production Coordinator to ensure all operational aspects of the venues including maintenance and compliance are met.
- Operate all technical aspects pertaining to the use of staging, rigging and associated theatrical and concert equipment across all areas.
- To safely and efficiently set-up, maintain and operate stage lighting, audio, video equipment and stage machinery.
- Participate in the bump-in and bump-out of productions and events.
- Assist with maintaining the Business Unit’s technical equipment and assets by carrying out repairs and maintenance as needed.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- Diploma or equivalent qualifications in Technical and Production Management of events and/or performing arts or equivalent
- Driver Licence
- First Aid Certificate
- WH&S Construction Induction Card
- National Certificate of Competency Licences
- LF - Forklift truck
- EWP – Boom type elevated work platform
- Working at Heights certificate
- DG – Dogging
- RB – Basic Rigging
- RI –Intermediate Rigging
- Electrical testing and tagging certificate
- Working With Children Check (WWCCC)

Salary range: Grade 14 - $1,568.10 - $1,696.90 per week for a 38 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
