Senior Team Leader Water Services

Expressions of Interest are invited for the position of Senior Team Leader Water Services, based at Council's Inverell Works Centre.  The successful applicant shall be an operative/ supervisor responsible for the satisfactory implementation of maintenance and repair programs for water distribution systems, supervision and control of an assistant or a small group of staff under the position’s control and the carrying out of and arranging connections to existing reticulation.

Essential Criteria:

 

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or other relevant trade/ qualification and suitable experience.
  • Suitable experience in water supply installation and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in a team.
  • NSW Class C Drivers Licence;
  • SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card (‘White Card’).

 

Skills and Experience

  •  Suitable experience in water supply maintenance.
  • Suitable experience in supervision.

 

Desirable Criteria:

 

Qualifications

 

  • National Licence to perform High Risk Work for Dogging (DG), or ability and willingness to obtain licence;
  • Enter and Work in Confined Spaces Certificate, or ability and willingness to obtain certification;
  • Traffic Control Certificate and Implement Traffic Control Plans Certificate/ Traffic Control Work Training Card or ability and willingness to obtain certification;
  • Certificate in Copper Cable Location or ability and willingness to obtain certification;
  • Work Safely in the Vicinity of Overhead Electrical Apparatus Certificate or ability and willingness to obtain certification;
  • Successful completion of an approved course for supervisors.

Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge and skills in the use of computer application including email, Microsoft Office suite and other work-related devices, systems e.g. maintenance programs and GIS mapping.

Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.  The classification for the position will be up to Administrative/ Technical/ Trades Band 2, Level 1, Grade 9.  Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience and will be in a range from $1,231.75 to $1,326.49 gross per week.  In addition, a Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $0.498 per hour, and an On-Call Allowance referred to in Clause 21(c) of the Local Government (State) Award 2023 shall be paid where applicable.
