About the Role

Contribute to creating an Extraordinary Wollongong by managing the delivery of Council's Infrastructure Delivery Program. In this essential role, you'll manage and coordinate projects involving the construction of Council's civil engineering and building assets. You'll be responsible for the financial performance, safety, quality and environmental performance of all works undertaken.

You will bring a Civil Engineering Degree or Building Degree with experience in both civil engineering and building projects. Along with your high-level project management skills, you will bring well developed negotiation, interpersonal and written skills. Your leaderships skills allow you to focus on project delivery whilst liaising and managing external Project Contractors and championing a safety culture across each project.

This is a full-time, 12-month term contract with potential for extension and permanency. Depending on operational requirements. Salary starting from $122,520.09 per annum, plus superannuation (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications). This role also includes a Lease for Private Use Motor Vehicle. A 3.5% Civil Liability allowance may also apply.

What You will be doing

As the Senior Project Manager, you will manage, oversee, coordinate the delivery of projects within the construction of our building and civil engineering assets. This includes:

  • Design Capability - including liaising, managing, engaging with internal and external stakeholders; preparing budgets; evaluating services; facilitating Statutory Planning obligations and providing specialist technical advice and Project Management on major Construction projects
  • Tendering - including managing the tender process from preparation to recommendation
  • Construction - including reviewing, managing, monitoring and budgeting projects to completion
  • Project Delivery- including progress meetings with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the financial and legal delivery of budgets, project reporting, contract administration and successful delivery of allocation construction budgets
  • WHS - including providing knowledge, ensuring safe practices, documentation, risk management activities and ensuring the safety of all staff, tradesmen, contractors and members of the public is delivered on all construction projects.

About you

As a Senior Project Manager, you enjoy mentoring and leading your team to deliver projects safely. You've been involved in projects in either civil and/or building jobs, utilising your qualifications (Civil or Building) allowing you to provide your knowledge, skills and experience to construction.

Your committed to quality management principles and bring the ability to coordinate project teams. You have high level Project Management skills, developing, implementing and monitoring progress to completion. Ensuring reporting and administration of project progress, you have the demonstrated ability to use computer applications eg spreadsheets, database and word processing, project Gantt charts.
