About the Role

We are seeking applications for a passionate and experienced professional to join Council’s Building Approval and Certification Team. As a Senior Building Surveyor you will work collaboratively with a friendly and experienced team to communicate and promote Council's policies to clients, staff and other agencies regarding Building Surveying, Building Certification, Planning matters and Fire Safety.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health and Building, Building Surveying or a related field and a minimum of four (4) years’ relevant work experience.
  • Accreditation with NSW Fair Trading at a registration level of Building Surveyor – restricted (class 1 and 10 buildings).
  • A sound working knowledge of NSW Planning Legislation as it relates to the position.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in assessment and inspection of Class 1 and 10 Buildings under the National Construction Code as well as assessment of Section 68 matters including sanitary drainage.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
