Exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Building Surveyor position. You will play a pivotal role in our community's growth and development. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, determinations and inspections on both new and existing buildings and structures within the Shire. This is a dynamic position that offers a blend of technical expertise and leadership.

We are seeking: 

  • Accreditation as a Building Surveyor unrestricted issued by the Department of Fair Trading
  • Demonstrated sound working knowledge of relevant legislation including relevant Australian Acts, Regulations, Standards and Codes
  • Experience as a Building Surveyor, preferably in Local Government.

Where it's located:

This position is based in Murwillumbah, and can be directed to work from any Council work site.

Essential:

  • Do you hold an unrestricted Building Surveyor accreditation issued by the Department of Fair Trading?
  • Please detail your sound working knowledge and skills relating to relevant building codes and standards
  • Please detail your wide-ranging experience in building certification
  • Please describe a situation where you encountered an unexpected issue during a building project how did you resolved?
  • Please provide detailed examples of your demonstrated well-developed skills in conflict resolution, staff supervision, work management procedures and business principles
  • Please detail your demonstrated competence in contributing to process improvements in an organisation
  • Please detail how do you provide feedback to your team to promote continuous improvement? 

DESIRABLE:

  • Please detail your up-to-date knowledge of Local Government building surveying, industry trends, business practise and the New South Wales Certification system
