About Us
Maitland City Council is a diverse and dynamic organisation in a rapidly growing LGA. Our Asset Team looks after over 2 billion dollars in infrastructure assets including roads, drainage, bridges and major structures. We ensure we provide the community infrastructure at an agreed level of service and in a financially sustainable way, as guided by Maitland +10. The process of asset management planning considers assets that are critical for growth, and the cost of building, maintaining and replacing these, including resources, timeframes and capabilities.

About the Role
As the Senior Asset Strategy Engineer, you will be responsible for the leadership of the day-to-day work and functioning of the Asset Strategy Team providing professional advice relating to Council's infrastructure assets. Specifically, the role will develop, implement and co-ordinate Council's Asset Management Plans, estimate asset replacement costs, review work practices, procedures and programs, and provide overall strategic direction to achieve greater efficiency and cost effectiveness.

In addition, the role requires a collaborative approach to manage and maintain Council's assets, including Council's Pavement Management system and associated support activities, ensuring data collection progression, monitoring and reporting.

Benefits
This is a permanent full-time role working 35 hours per week with a base salary ranging from $105,021

  • $116,574 per year based on previous industry experience + allowances + 11% p.a superannuation + private leaseback vehicle.

About You

To be successful in this role you will possess a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent, coupled with contemporary experience in civil infrastructure or asset management and planning. Expertise in utilising financial, asset management, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and work management systems is crucial.

As a people leader, you will have highly developed communication skills to coach and mentor staff. Ou will manage various stakeholder interactions and address challenges that arise during project execution. Lastly, your excellent ability to generate meaningful reports for decision-making will be key to success to ensure strategic alignment with organisational objectives.
