About the role

This position is a permanent, full-time role in our Water and Sewerage (W&S) team, based at the Moruya Depot. It will monitor and control W&S SCADA operations and data reporting in support of W&S quality and efficiencies, as well as undertaking audits, maintenance and renewal activities to ensure a current, effective and efficient SCADA system.

Your main duties will also include:

  • Report detected faults in the W&S network and provide technical assistance to W&S personnel during abnormal W&S system events. Implement alarm management practices aligned with industry and Australian Standards.
  • Maintain SCADA databases and Information Management Systems for the collection and storage of reportable and analytical data. Extract data into meaningful and informative reports per nominated schedules or on-demand.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining and monitoring the SCADA network, inclusive of external connections such as ADSL, NBN, VPN and internet connections. Administer user access to the network, SCADA servers and Historian database.
  • Develop and implement procedures and other documentation which promote safe, functional, and efficient SCADA systems and facilities.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $81,145.81 to $96,667.73 gross per annum comprising:

  • $72,776.51 to $86,697.52 base salary
  • $8,369.30 to $9,970.21 superannuation (calculated at 11.5%)

A satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History Check is a requirement for the position.

About you

We are looking for an experienced technical professional with a background in the Water and Sewer industry, who can contribute strong support to the effective operation and general maintenance of water and wastewater services within our community. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and relevant industry technical knowledge, combined with good communication and time-management. The successful applicant will further demonstrate the following:

  • Qualification at Certificate IV level in Information Technology/Systems, or Electrotechnology, or a related field.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in the use of database systems.
  • Experience with Operation Technology systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and organise resources
