About the role

Bathurst Regional Council is currently looking for a permanent full time Relief Plant Operator to join Council's Works section. In the role you will be required to operate various items of Council’s plant as and when required and undertake duties associated with road construction and maintenance activities.

To be successful in this role you will hold a current NSW Class HR Driver’s Licence, as a minimum have experience operating various types of heavy earth moving plant, and knowledge and experience in basic mechanical and maintenance principles of plant.  Experience working in the road maintenance and construction industry are also key requirements.

Key Requirements 

• A current NSW Class HR Driver’s Licence, as a minimum
• Extensive experience in the operation of various items of plant and trucks
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• Proven ability to work effectively as a team member
• Knowledge and experience of road construction and maintenance principles
• Knowledge and experience in basic mechanical & maintenance principles of plant
• Experience in operating small plant used in the construction industry
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
• Adequate numeracy and literacy skills to fulfil the requirements of the position

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen.

Salary: $1,155.40 to $1,213.83 per week + industry allowance of $18.92 per week + super 

Position Status: Permanent Full Time 

Hours of work: 38 hours per week with an RDO every fortnight
