The Role

Based at either our Burnie or Devonport campus locations, as the Regional Engagement Officer, you will engage with stakeholders to promote vocational education and training (VET) opportunities, serving as the primary liaison between Community & Industry Stakeholder Groups, Study Hubs, Jobs Hub, and TasTAFE. To increase access to vocational education and training for learners, you will facilitate and coordinate access and delivery of services (including training) in the North West and West Coast regions in line with the workforce needs of local employers.

Our ideal candidate must have the flexibility to travel extensively across the North West and West coasts, including overnight stays on King Island.

This is a full time, fixed term position for 24 months.

Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills enable you to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. You possess a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within regional communities and are dedicated to creating pathways for job seekers to achieve their career goals.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of vocational education and training in Tasmania, including TasTAFE and regional workforce strategic priorities.
  • High level interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • High level of initiative and flexibility, with proven self-management, planning, conceptual and creative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a high-pressured environment.

You will require a current Working with Vulnerable People registration, or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
