We have two exciting opportunities available one part-time and one full-time position.

Are you looking for an opportunity to work for a vibrant and progressive Council?  Our Ranger and Emergency Services team is now seeking a proactive team player with a passion for community engagement.

Salary Range

$71,000 – 82,800 + 11% super (pro-rata) + 7 days Monday to Sunday roster 15% loading

Pay rises July 24,25,26

What You Will Be Working On

The focus of this role is to deliver Ranger Services efficiently and effectively, whilst proactively fostering a strong community environment. The successful candidate will manage and maintain regulatory compliance, legal obligations, whilst promoting safety and respect amongst community members.

We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates strong communication and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a proven capacity to collaborate effectively within a team.

  • In addition, some of the additional duties are: Schedule work based on responding to community issues and statutory obligations, determining priority and risk through open communication and community participation.
  • Maintain the City’s emergency management and bush fire prevention obligations.
  • Conducting regular patrols to ensure compliance with local laws and statutory obligations.
  • Investigating and resolving complaints promptly.
  • Maintaining public information bulletins, brochures, and educational programs.
  • Liaising with government and local authorities regarding safety and security.

About You

  • Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 & 2.
  • Dog and Cat Management and Control Skill Set
  • Possession of Current C Class Drivers Licence.
  • Knowledge of all relevant Acts, Legislation, Local Laws and Regulations relating to Ranger Services.
  • Strong understanding and appreciation of the role of local government to build inclusive communities.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a current National Police Certificate and Gun registration.
