Salary range: $85,906 - $93,915 pro rata + 12.5% superannuation. (Hourly rate $43.4 -$47.5)

About the role

This role contributes to the success of the City by effectively managing projects under the Council’s Public Art Program that ‘activate’ the City.

Role accountabilities include:

  • Implement the recommendations detailed in the Creative Hobart Strategy and Public Art Framework.
  • Develop public art commissions and project-manage through concept development, design development and fabrication and installation phases.
  • Coordinate promotional strategies and manage events for the Public Art and Cultural Development Programs in consultation with the Communications and Marketing areas.
  • Oversee the asset management and maintenance of Council’s public art collection in conjunction with relevant Council employees.

About you

You will be a project manager with knowledge of artistic and cultural installations in public space. The City uses public art in multiple media types to activate its public spaces, and we will value your ability to oversee projects from inception through to installation and maintenance. You will be organised, flexible, and efficient, and enjoy working closely with the community, artists and contractors while operating professionally and in a friendly manner. You will also have confident written and verbal skills.

The desired applicant will have;

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Project Management, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Building or Industrial Design.
  • Experience working as a project manager acquired through a number of years in a similar role.
  • Current Driver Licence.
