The Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled and motivated property professional with a passion for community -focused work to join our team and assist in the management and strategic direction of Council-owned and managed properties.

Reporting to the General Manager, your key responsibilities will be:

  • Assist in the acquisition, disposal, and leasing of Council-owned properties.
  • Develop and implement Plans of Management for Council-managed Crown Land.
  • Provide advice on land ownership and management, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Conduct property negotiations, prepare business cases, and analyse land tenure needs.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders including the elected Council, other staff, government departments, and the public on property-related matters.

Key requirements of the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in property management, Crown Land, property law, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to prepare business cases for the acquisition and disposal of land.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Crown Land Management Act 2016, Local Government Act 1993, and Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
