Project Officer (Buildings)

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled tradie looking to advance their project management skills!

About the Role:

As Project Officer (Buildings) you will primarily responsible for project managing a number of grant-funded building projects, namely the:

• Bowraville Theatre upgrade;
• Grants Hall upgrade; and
• Macksville Memorial Aquatic and Fitness Centre roof repair.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage and coordinate maintenance and capital projects related to building maintenance, refurbishment, and construction.
• Arrange for engineering designs, contract documentation, and cost estimates for building projects.
• Prepare and evaluate quotes and estimates for works.
• Procure contractor services through tendering or quotation processes.
• Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with contracts, Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations, and Council policies.
• Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets (capital and operational).

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have

• Building-related trade qualification or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in contractor supervision and procurement of trades
• Current driver’s licence.
• Effective interpersonal, negotiating, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
