About the role

Are you a qualified lifeguard with a passion for beach safety? The City of Coffs Harbour is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our lifeguard team and help ensure the safety and well-being of beachgoers at various locations.

You will work under the guidance of a Level 2 Lifeguard and assist in all facets of lifeguard operations. Your duties will include the administration of pre-hospital care, maintaining surveillance of designated areas, handling surf conditions, managing marine animals, and ensuring beach cleanliness. Additionally, you will engage in public relations, daily administration and education, and play a key role in the use and maintenance of life-saving equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a certification in First Aid, proficiency in surf rescue techniques, strong swimming skills, and effective communication and interpersonal abilities. A commitment to upholding safety standards and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are also essential qualities.

About you?

  • Current Australian Professional Ocean Lifeguard Award Level 1 or equivalent and/or the ability to perform and pass all competencies of the course.
  • Current First Aid qualification.
  • Current Working with Children's Check.
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence.
