About the role
This is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm position working 35 hours per week. Located at the Shoalhaven Water Depot, Flinders Road, South Nowra.

Duties
Reporting to the Senior Portfolio Planning Engineer, the focus of this position is to:

  • Manage the new projects pipeline to efficiently introduce new initiatives to the capital works portfolio.
  • Actively participate in capital works budgeting processes.
  • Develop and maintain Water and Wastewater servicing strategies including development, maintenance, and utilisation of system hydraulic models.
  • Conduct detailed project needs validation and options assessments and make recommendations for implementation.
  • Develop and assess detailed project business cases.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project cost estimates for budgeting and benchmarking.
  • Provide project governance reporting and administration support.
  • Provide technical software support to Shoalhaven Water users of key planning software.
  • Engage and manage external consultants in the delivery of strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Support the development and ongoing operation of a Portfolio, Programme and Project Office (P3O) capability including Strategic Planning, Delivery Support and Centre of Excellence functions.
  • Prepare and administer detailed funding grant applications.
  • Collaborate with other Units and Departments within Shoalhaven Water and other Directorates within Council to obtain the latest data to be utilised for project, programme, and capital portfolio planning.

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will possess:

  • Degree qualifications in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualifications and experience in Project Management.
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Current General Construction Induction Card (WhiteCard), SafeWork NSW
