Salary from $80,499.52 up to $88,902.62 per annum plus superannuation. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)

About the role

As a Pool Superintendent, you'll play a key leadership role in managing the daily operations of a pool facility, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and efficient functioning. You'll bring strong industry knowledge in pool maintenance, water treatment, safety regulations, oversee staff and facility management.

You will ensure high-level public safety in this essential role. Your excellent customer service skills will be essential for interacting with patrons, addressing concerns and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors. We are seeking a dedicated and values driven leader! A leader who fosters a culture that values all team members by recognising and encouraging individual strengths and drives innovation to improve service and productivity.

In this role, you will be required to work a 7-day rotating roster between the hours of 5am - 10pm at any of Council's 8 community swimming pools.

Under Part 2, Section 6 of the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012, this position has been designated as requiring a NSW paid Working With Children Check.

What you will be doing

The Pool Superintendent is responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable aquatic recreation environment for the community, you'll assist Council in promoting an active and healthy lifestyle to the community through the provision of quality aquatic recreation facilities. You will project and promote the image of Council as both efficient and courteous, with an emphasis on providing quality customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Make sure there is constant surveillance of the pools and grounds during operating hours to protect the community and staff from danger or potential injury.
  • Manage and develop staff, including rostering, task allocation, monitoring progress and identifying any training needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the community.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility and maintain high-quality water that meets regulatory standard
  • Implement and manage the WHS program, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and conducting risk assessments and safety training

About you

You have a strong understanding of industry trends, relevant documentation and guidelines associated with operating public swimming pools. You also bring experience in the development and implementation of training plans and safe systems of work.

As a proactive leader, you strive for continuous improvement, whilst following best practice principles within the industry. With your strong understanding of plant room operations, you also have extensive experience in driving a customer centric approach in the day-to-day management of pools.
