Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated and qualified plumber to join Council's Water Services team. 

  • Permanent Full-Time – 38 hours per week
  • Location - Moree
  • Attractive salary ranging from $35.10 per hour to $40.36 per hour(PLUS 11% Superannuation).

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Plumber is responsible for delivering maintenance and construction works and services to all water and sewerage supplies within the Shire. This includes: 

  • Constructing and providing repairs to all Council’s water and sewer main reticulation schemes, meeting relevant codes and standards for plumbing repairs.
  • Repairing and Maintaining Council’s Water, Sewer and Waste Pumps and Treatment Works and Plumbing Infrastructures when required.
  • Support Council’s Building Maintenance team with repairs relating to plumbing issues on Council assets.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023.

ABOUT YOU

Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications: 

  • Possess a Certificate IV in Plumbing together with Contractor Licence - Plumbing.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team whilst providing supervision and clear instruction to Apprentice Plumber(s).
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under conflicting time pressures.
  • Ability to work after hours when directed by the Water and Waste Superintendent and approved by the Director Infrastucture, including being on-call when requested.
  • Sound literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to carry out mathematical calculations with proven experience in the maintenance of accurate records.
  • Current Class MR Driver’s Licence (Applicants who do not hold this licence may be considered in some instances however, must have the ability to obtain it at their own cost within three months of commencement).
  • General Construction and Induction card.
  • Ability to provide evidence of vaccination/immunisation for Tetanus and Hepatitis A & B and maintain currency of this throughout your period of employment.
