Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking a Plant Operator Road Stabiliser to join the Infrastructure team!
- Permanent full time - 38 hours per week
- Rostered day off every fortnight - an extra 22 days off a year!
- Weekly pay cycle
- Salary range $1094.53 - $1310.97 per week
ABOUT THE ROLE
Gilgandra Shire Council operates in a competitive professional environment and its services will be subject to benchmarking and/or public opinion.
A stabiliser is a dedicated machine with specialist rotors that mixes binder (lime, cement, supplementary cementious materials, bitumen and other chemical additives mixed with granular and sub grade materials to improve their properties) and pavement material. The stabiliser adds water in the mixing chamber and the rotors may pulverize and mix binder simultaneously.
Within that environment the major challenges for the position of Plant Operator- Road Stabiliser are to:
- Safely operate a pulveriser mixer machine to mix gravels, clays and natural soils delivering pavement constructions, rehabilitation and maintenance solutions.
- Assist other team members with road maintenance and construction to maximize the quality of Council’s roads.
- Use and operate all vehicles, equipment and material in a safe manner to minimize risk and impact on the environment.
- Carry out maintenance and adjustments of the road stabiliser to improve its performance
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023.

ABOUT YOU
Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications:
- Driver Licence Class C
- Possession of WorkCover WH&S Construction Induction Training (White Card)
- Unit of Competency - Roller and Front-end loader
- Experience in the operation of a Road Stabiliser
- Knowledge and understanding of WH&S
- Good verbal communication skills
- The ability to work unsupervised and in a team
- Sound literacy and numeracy skills
- Other plant operator tickets
- Traffic Control Certification
- Certificate III in Civil Construction
- First Aid Certificate
- Class HR or HC Licence
