The Planning Support team within the Development Assessment & Certification Division is seeking to fill two permanent positions, one full-time position (35 hours per week) and one part-time position (21 hours per week).

The Planning Support team provides a diverse range of planning, building and development engineering administration support services.

To succeed in this role, you will need a high level of administrative skills, excellent communication and organisation skills, a collaborative and proactive approach, along with the ability to effectively problem solve and multi-task.​

Salary from $79,993 up to $91,464 per annum plus superannuation (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications).

About the role

Both positions are within the overall Planning Support team and will involve liaison with divisional Management and colleagues, as well as external customers and government agencies. The successful candidate will also be trained in other administrative support functions to provide a multi-skilled approach within the Planning Support team.

The part-time position will primarily be within Building and Certification Administration Team which is responsible for providing administrative support for the:

  • Processing of Development Applications, Complying Development Certificates, Activity Applications, Construction Certificates and Building Information Certificates
  • Providing administrative support to Development Project Officers
  • Managing information and document management
  • Answering telephone and email enquiries
  • Organising building inspection bookings
  • Processing Refunds

The full-time position will primarily be within Fire Safety Administration Team which is responsible for the:

  • Processing of Annual Fire Safety Statements (AFSS) submitted to Council.
  • Issuing invoices for annual fees
  • Provision of technical advice to internal and external customers, as appropriate to the position.
  • Legal enforcement action including issuing penalty notices / fines.
  • Answering telephone and email enquiries.
  • Implementation and maintenance of administrative systems to manage information and documentation flow.
