How you'll make a difference

You will provide an efficient, responsive and responsible compliance service to our statutory planning team. You will play an important role to engender public confidence in our regulatory services by auditing adherence to permit conditions, educating the public on expectations and taking appropriate action to rectify identified breaches.

You will need to be passionate and multi-skilled and be able to consistently deliver operational services with a high degree of autonomy and professionalism and in an organised and enjoyable environment whilst promoting the Alpine Shire as a customer-focused organisation.

As part of our team you will:

  • Ensure statutory planning compliance is fulfilled.
  • Provide compliance education and advice to our community.
  • Handle enforcement and complaints
  • Work closely with our Planning team to provide an excellent service.

What you’ll need to succeed:

You will have the potential to achieve outstanding outcomes with an innovative approach and undertake these responsibilities in a professional, efficient and timely manner. You will deliver services in compliance with relevant legislation, and in a way which provides best value to Council.

You will also have:

  • Appropriate degree or diploma with substantial relevant experience
  • Relevant industry experience and the ability to apply knowledge and interpretation of legislation and technical information to develop and implement processes and systems for the ongoing compliance function into the future.
  • Drivers licence
  • Valid Working with Children Check and Police clearance checks.

  • Band 7 classification, starting from $94,822 per annum + Monthly Rostered Day Off
  • Salary negotiable for the right candidate, depending on candidates skills and experience.
