Pipelaying Assistant

Applications are invited for the position of Pipelaying Assistant, based at Council's Inverell Works Centre.  The successful applicant shall be responsible for the satisfactory execution of general duties in the Reticulation Construction Unit for construction or maintenance projects undertaken by the Civil Engineering Branch.

Essential Criteria:

 

Qualifications

  • NSW School Certificate/ Record of School Achievement or equivalent;
  • NSW Class C Drivers Licence;
  • Traffic Controller Certificate;
  • SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card (‘White Card’).

 

Desirable Criteria:

 

Qualifications

  • NSW Class MR Drivers Licence;
  • Satisfactory formal training in pipelaying techniques
    OR
    Satisfactory experience;
  • Enter and Work in Confined Spaces Certificate;
  • Work Safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker Certificate;
  • National Licence to perform High Risk Work for Dogging (DG).

 

Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.  The classification for the position will be up to Operational Band 1, Level 2, Grade 2.  Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $999.85 to $1,054.90 gross per week.  In addition, a Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $0.498 per hour will be paid where applicable.
