Play a key role in
processing payroll, maintaining accurate records, and supporting system
improvements. Working with an efficient and dynamic small team, this position is responsible for processing and assisting in the coordination and preparation of Council's fortnightly payroll, performing tasks such as timesheet
processing (digital and physical), leave entitlements, deductions, and superannuation, while ensuring
compliance with award requirements and Council policies. With a focus on
communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement, this is an excellent
opportunity for someone with payroll experience and strong computer skills. We strongly encourage you to apply if you are highly efficient and confident in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You'll work with a great team to:

  • Prepare, process and check employee timesheet input including
    payment of overtime and allowances
  • Administer and process employee payroll deductions
  • Maintain accurate employee superannuation records
  • Calculate and prepare leave applications, balance reports and cash out figures
  • Establish employee records in the payroll system for new commencements
  • Calculate employee terminations


What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated
    experience in payroll and/or accounting functions in a large
    organisation
  • High-level proficiency of computer skills
    including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in maintaining high level of confidentiality

We would also love you to have:

  • Qualifications or progression towards
    qualifications in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in
    providing Payroll Services using an E Services environment

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $71,401 to $82,9881.
