Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to work within the Human Resources Team.

  • Permanent Full-Time – 35 hours per week
  • Location - Moree
  • Attractive Salary ranging from $1,176.40 up to $1,352.65 (PLUS superannuation) depending on qualifications and experience

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Payroll and Human Resource Generalist will be required to support the coordination of efficient payroll functions and undertake the administrative delivery of the day-to-day processing of the employee payroll in an accurate and timely manner. The role will also provide administrative support across the Human Resource functions of Moree Plains Shire Council.

Other duties include:

  • Assist with ensuring Council’s payroll system is fully utilised, maintained and developed,
  • Assist in the review of payroll processes and procedures, including reviewing payroll manuals and payroll forms.
  • End-of-year procedures are followed including lodgement of taxation requirements e.g., payment summaries, under the supervision of the Payroll Officer.
  • Assist with superannuation processing and payments
  • Reviewing and payment of higher duties roles as required
  • Providing quarterly reports on current higher duties allowances paid to employees

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023 

ABOUT YOU

Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications: 

  • Certificate IV in Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management or Business Administration.
  • Previous experience in payroll or a similar finance role OR strong numeracy skills and a strong attention to detail paired with an enthusiasm to learn.
  • Sound experience working within a busy office environment, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy and professionalism in relation to all personal, financial and corporate matters.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Experience or an understanding of applying and interpreting awards and legislation.
  • NSW Police Check Clearance.
  • Current NSW Class C Driver Licence.
  • Demonstrated accuracy in data entry together with the ability to produce high-quality documents including letters, reports, and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent computer skills, with the ability to craft, edit and format detailed documents, presentations and spreadsheets, and maintain these with confidence.
