Patching Truck Leading Hand Rural coordinates the on site day to day resource requirements for bitumen patching operations. This includes coordinating the timely supply of resources and ensuring the skillful operation of specialised equipment.  The position also have the opportunity to undertake customer liaison with the public and others about works progress.  

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Undertaking civil works
  • Bitumen Patching Truck Operations
  • Day to day coordination of works activities
  • Knowledge of Councils and Works Services Management Systems
  • Carrying out works in accordance with the WHS Act and with Council's own Policies and Procedures

 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

You will be a skilled and competent operator who takes pride in their work for the benefit of the community.  You will enjoy working autonomously however will also be able to work as part of a team.  You have good customer service skills with the ability to community with members of the public. 

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Appropriate work related (civil assets) experience
  • Class HR to HC Drivers Licence and plant operator competence in Bitumen Patching Truck operation including mechanical aptitude
  • Basic clerical capabilities, literacy and numeracy
  • Good customer service and verbal communication skills
  • General Construction Induction card (White Card)

We would also love you to have:

  • Previous Local Government experience.
  • TAFE Certificate 3 – Civil Construction/Maintenance
  • Competence in the operation of a number of plant items
  • RMS Traffic controller and Implement Traffic Control Plan tickets

Attractive annual salary ranging from $63,587 to $73,897 is on offer.
