Part Time Warrumbungle Community Care Handyperson (22.5 hours)

Salary Range: $26 - $30 per hour + superannuation

Warrumbungle Community Care is funded to provide a range of home and community care services to support older people, people with disabilities and their carers. The Handyperson provides home maintenance related services, predominantly mowing and lawn care, and support for the delivery of other services to clients of Warrumbungle Community Care. To be successful in this role you will need to have experience in providing home maintenance related services, ideally with experience providing services to older people and their families, and the ability to work independently with a strong focus on safety for you and your clients. You will be a people person with great verbal communication skills as well as basic administration skills.

This is a part-time position of 22.5 hours per week, with hours and days of work as agreed with the Supervisor Warrumbungle Community Care. Additional hours may be available on a casual basis.

This position is located in the beautiful town of Coonabarabran, known as the Astronomy Capital of Australia, which is midway between Melbourne and Brisbane and is known for its beautiful landscape and stunning night skies. The town has medical services, excellent schools, a variety of sporting and social clubs and a thriving tourism Industry. With the nearby Warrumbungle National Park, which is also Australia’s first Dark Sky Park, there is plenty to do and explore whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation.

Selection criteria include:

  • Skills and experience in providing home maintenance related services
  • Experience providing services to older people and their families
  • Demonstrated verbal communication skills
  • Basic administration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Class C NSW Driver’s Licence 
  • SafeWork Occupational Health and Safety Construction Induction Certificate (Whitecard)
  • Strong safety focus
